SOUND SOLUTIONS FOR SONY

In 2016, Sony moved their headquarters to 25 Madison Avenue and started looking for perfect seating solutions for their conference rooms. The new headquarters, which is home to employees from Sony Music, Sony/ATV Music Publishing, Sony Pictures and Sony DADC, occupies the top ten floors of the building. The stunning 30-story art deco skyscraper, originally built in 1967, was having its interior modernized by Sony. The building features Alabama limestone finishing and marble detailing, complete with stunning birds-eye views of Madison Square Park.

Sony wanted a fresh, clean and contemporary look with high quality products – much like the products they’re known for selling. With the need for 340 chairs, local dealer, Arenson Office Furnishings and design firm, Studio 1200, got to work exploring options that would impress Sony executives and put the finishing touches on their innovative and inspiring new space.

The solution was our Requisite Midback Conference chair, which was perfect for the meetings of their creative minds. Requisite delivered everything they needed functionally, ergonomically and aesthetically. Classic lines, modern and intersecting materials create visual interest at 360-degrees, leaving a great first - and lasting - impression. The highly durable, steel construction supports people during long, important conversations. And while style and quality were a draw for Sony early on, they also valued the attention and service they received during the past 3 years they’ve worked with us.

It was incredibly exciting to work with a client like Sony. Now, when we see one of their products, we can’t help but wonder if the idea came to them while sitting in one of our chairs.
